THE OPPORTUNITY:

Ambipar Response is currently seeking an HSEQ Manager based out of the Edmonton area.


The HSEQ Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality Management System. This role plays a critical part in maintaining regulatory compliance, promoting a proactive safety culture, and driving continuous improvement across regional operations.


WHAT YOUR DAYS WILL CONSIST OF:

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and standards in Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan.
Maintain and update corporate HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
Lead Certificate of Recognition (COR) audits and corrective action tracking.
Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and resolution of corrective actions.
Manage contractor prequalification systems (e.g., ISNetworld, Comply Works, Avetta).
Safety & Training:

Develop and deliver mandatory and site-specific safety training (e.g., WHMIS, H2S, First Aid).
Lead emergency response planning and exercises.
Provide field-level support in hazard identification and risk mitigation.
Ensure compliance with PPE and safety equipment standards.
Operations & Reporting:

Conduct routine field safety inspections and internal audits.
Monitor and analyze HSEQ KPIs including incident rates, audit scores, and training compliance.
Prepare and present monthly safety performance reports to senior leadership.
Maintain accurate documentation and records (training, incidents, inspections).
Communication & Leadership:

Collaborate with executive and operational leadership to establish HSEQ priorities.
Provide coaching and support to frontline staff and divisional managers.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in occupational health and safety (field and office-based).
Strong understanding of provincial OHS regulations (AB, BC, SK).
Proven experience with risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Valid certifications: H2S Alive, First Aid, Ground Disturbance, Incident Investigation (or equivalents).
Willingness to travel as operational needs require.
