Human Resources Administrator (fixed term until the end of January 2026)

The annual salary offered is: £25,494 rising to £26,834 on the 1st September 2025

This is a fixed term role until the end of January 2026

Established in 1984, Ruskin Mill Trust is an educational charity that operates in England, Scotland and Wales.
We offer exciting outdoor learning environments, utilising practical land and craft activities to support the development of work and life skills in young people with autistic spectrum conditions and other learning differences. Our research-led method, Practical Skills Therapeutic Education, is inspired by the work of Rudolf Steiner, John Ruskin and William Morris. Requirements of the role:

This role is office based in central Sheffield and will benefit of sharing an office with the HR team providing services to schools, colleges and adult social care. As the role is based in a site with children and young adults with additional needs enhanced pre-employment checks are required including and Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

The office hours are: 08:30 to 17:00 with an unpaid 30-minute lunch break.

Main Duties:

To provide administrative support to the Trust Head of Human Resources by carrying out administrative tasks for cross Trust project work within the HR function.
To streamline job descriptions and prepare person specifications for a large suite of roles.
To format policies and procedures to organisational formats.
To collate data, carry out analysis and create reports to support the reporting responsibilities of the HR function.
To take minutes for formal meetings including employee relations processes.
Person specification:

This role would suit a Human Resources Graduate wishing to gain experience in a educational and care organisation.

The skills we are looking for are:

Strong administration skills
Good linguistic skills
Intermediate Microsoft programmes such as Word/Excel skills/PowerPoint etc
Experience of managing work and projects independently
Excellent organisational skills
Adaptable and shows initiative

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Level Disclosure as well as a medical check, references, evidence of qualifications, plus verification of the right to work in the UK
