About this opportunity
As a Human Resources Advisor with CBI Health, you will provide coaching and support to managers, and team leaders related to employee relations, labour relations, performance management and CBI Health HR policies & procedures.
Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day
Support the labour relations function where relevant and ensure labour management relations are exercised within the business unit which are appropriate for both bargaining unit and management professional staff
Handle routine labour relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements; refers complex matters to appropriate management staff.
Assists with preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.
Support the implementation and administration of the Performance and Professional Development program
Coordinate training initiatives as required
Advise regional leaders and support engagement initiatives and communications
Support and administer new hire orientation and onboarding programs
Participate in workforce planning based on market changes and operational needs
Actively participate in and support talent acquisition related activities and internal CBI job posting practices
Support and administer health and safety initiatives and employee disability claims in partnership with the HR team and operations leaders (Worker’s Compensation, modified work, leaves of absence)
In partnership with managers and supervisors coordinate early and safe return to work programs and plans
Ensure compliance with all elements of Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures and assist in implementing health and safety CBI initiatives
Assist in preparing and analyzing HR metrics
Prepare employee documentation including but not limited to employee recognition, coaching, corrective actions, offers, changes of status and termination materials
Support and guide regional leadership in all areas of employment legislative requirements and escalate to the HR Manager as appropriate
What you will need to be successful
Post-secondary or post-graduate education in human resources
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a human resources generalist capacity, preferably within a unionized environment
Working toward or possess a human resources designation
Experience with labour relations/supporting a unionized environment
Resourceful, self-directed and detail-oriented
Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation
Demonstrated time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
Ability to manage multiple projects and resources
