Job description
Pennine HR is a successful family-owned business providing outsourced HR support to businesses across the north of England. Our success is built on providing excellent service, pragmatic and practical HR advice, and always putting our customers first.
We are now looking for an experienced HR Advisor/Consultant to support our wide range of clients.
You will be a key member of our team and will work closely with our clients to develop and deliver tailored HR solutions. This will include providing day to day HR advice by phone and email, supporting our clients onsite with employee relations meetings and advising on HR best practice.
Some examples of what you will be involved with:
• Advising on day to day employment matters such as sickness absence, performance management, disciplinaries and grievances
• Providing in-person, onsite HR support for clients
• Developing policies and procedures for each element of the employee relationship
• Drafting employment contracts, job descriptions and person specifications
• Implementing performance management processes
• Managing and monitoring our on-line HR system on behalf of clients
We act as close partners to all our clients, so a key aspect of the role will be getting to know them and providing excellent customer service.
While you will spend time at clients and we offer some flexibility, this role is essentially office based. You will therefore need to live within commuting distance of Huddersfield.
To be successful, you will need:
• A comprehensive knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
• Experience of working in an HR role, particularly advising on employee relations matters
• Excellent customer service skills
• The ability to build strong relationships with clients
• Mental agility to be able to deal with multiple clients/matters
• An understanding of the commercial realities of small businesses
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• A UK driving licence and vehicle that can be used for business travel (mileage will be paid)
In return we can offer:
• Competitive salary
• A challenging and varied career
• Opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge
• A friendly and supportive workplace.
