ABOUT THE ROLE
The South Simcoe Police Service (SSPS) is looking for a self-motivated, energetic, and detailed-oriented HR Coordinator to join our HR team. You will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders, take an active role on HR projects, gain experience in various HR functions in the areas of Talent, Organizational Development, Total Rewards and assist with Wellness.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for people, you will help propel HR projects forward while maintaining seamless day-to-day functions in our HR operations. You will keep employee records up to date, managing confidential files, supporting recruitment and onboarding, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and legislation. You will assist with benefits data entry, streamline filing systems, handle internal inquires from staff at all levels and contribute to full cycle hiring processes.

MUST HAVES
A positive attitude, professional and service-oriented mindset.
Adherence to strict confidentiality requirements
Willingness to learn, self-motivated, ability to meet deadlines
Strong organizational and time management skills
Minimum CHRP or working towards certification
Post-secondary degree or diploma in an arts discipline, business administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Effective communication skills – written and oral
Strong knowledge with Microsoft applications, Adobe
Ability to work well independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team
Valid Ontario driver’s licence
NICE-TO-HAVE
Prior exposure to a policing environment or public service experience.
Experience with HRIS software
Experience in labour relations
Creativity and “outside the box” thinking
Developing business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills
