Responsibilities
The HR Specialist is a member of the HR team reporting to the Sr
As an HR Specialist at Spinal Elements, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of the employee life cycle
This is a temporary position with an anticipated start date of mid-October 2026 through early April
Monitoring the HR mailbox and responding to employee requests in a timely manner
Assisting with candidate scheduling, phone screening, and ensuring an exceptional candidate experience
Assisting with new hire onboarding and orientation
Assisting with the off-boarding process and notifying all respective departments of employee exits
Verifying benefits invoices for accuracy and updating payroll team as needed
Assisting in payroll by reviewing employees' timecards and time off requests
Identifying and documenting any payroll exceptions on a bi-weekly basis
Collaborating with and advising internal departments on HR matters as needed
Handling confidential information professionally and with sensitivity
Completing employment verification requests in a timely manner
Preparing monthly employee recognition including anniversaries, birthdays and upcoming events
Assisting with drafting and sending out communication to the entire employee population
Supporting with leave documentation
Supporting the events committee with monthly engagement activities
Conducting research on best practices in the HR industry and sharing findings with the team
Additional project-based work, including supporting annual benefits enrollment, annual performance process, goal setting, internal communications, and learning and development initiatives
Other duties as assigned

Meet the Team
The HR Specialist is a member of the HR team reporting to the Sr. Director, Human Resources. The Human Resources team at Spinal Elements is a critical function of the business and works collaboratively with all departments to ensure an exceptional employee experience.
About the role:

Experience and Education
• HS diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of human resources experience required.
• Comfortable with MS Office: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Forms.
• Familiarity with ADP a plus.
• Payroll experience a plus.
