Essential Responsibilities:

Daylighting and soft excavating for telecommunication, hydro, gas, and water
Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, Ontario Infrastructure guidelines and acting safely at all times
Perform pre and post trip inspections by following company policies and procedures for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure the Hydro Vac is clean and operating properly
Complete all required paperwork daily
Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures by Hydrovac operation
Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites
Qualifications:

2-3 years of experience operating a Hydro Vac (experience with Foremost and Rival HVACs is an asset ).
Proficient in reading and understanding design drawings.
Capable of reading locates and identifying discrepancies in the field.
DETAC equipotential bonding mat
Must be NSC (National Safety Code) trained and maintain accurate log books in accordance with regulations and company standards.
Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Must have and maintain a valid DZ or higher driver’s license and be able to provide a clean driver’s abstract.
Strong knowledge of construction documents.
Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret their needs, and identify solutions.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug & ******* requirements.
Working Conditions:

Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
Travel to various sites in the surrounding Mississauga GTA
Working outdoors in various weather conditions.
