Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who loves exploring data, building models, and communicating the findings to multi-disciplinary teams.
Whether you are an analyst, data scientist, computer scientist, social scientist or maths or physics whizz; we are less concerned by the specifics of your credentials and more interested by your curiosity and ability to creatively interpret data to solve problems.
This is an opportunity for role in the new Quality, Safety and Improvement directorate of the NHS Wales Executive, to be part of our team at a busy and exciting time as we step-up our support to help NHS Wales improve care for the people of Wales.
Improvement Cymru is a core part of this directorate. Together, we work alongside organisations to empower, embed and elevate improvements to quality and safety, delivering all-Wales improvement programmes to achieve quality and safety priorities.
To do this successfully, we need to be rigorous and employ effective analytical techniques to deliver unambiguous and robust insight of a complex health and social care system.
Working with other members of the Analytics Team, you will utilise tools such as R, MS Excel, Simul8, Power BI and Power Apps to assist in data collection and analysis, create simulation models and write reports and papers providing in-depth analysis of data.
You’ll be joining an ambitious team, comprising some of the most qualified, experienced Improvement professionals in health and social care in Wales. As part of our new direction, we want to strengthen our team by recruiting new team members from diverse backgrounds with a mix of skills, personalities and experiences – considering candidates from both an NHS background as well as other sectors.
Interested candidates are encouraged to contact the role recruitment manager named below to discuss the role further if they have any queries.
The NHS Executive works in partnership for and on behalf of Welsh Government, in and with the NHS in Wales and is hosted by Public Health Wales.
Our key purpose is to drive improvements in the quality and safety of care - resulting in better and more equitable outcomes, access and patient experience, reduced variation, and improvements in population health.
We do this by providing strong leadership and strategic direction – enabling, supporting, and directing NHS Wales to transform clinical services in line with national priorities and standards.
