Title: Industrial Lab Technician
Location: St. Gabriel, LA

Salary: $65,000 - $81,000
Schedule: Rotating Day/Nights; 12-hour shifts


Focus: The Industrial Lab Technician is responsible for conducting and analyzing routine and non-routine samples from Production to ensure the product meets customer specifications. The position prepares solutions for laboratory and production plan use and maintains and troubleshoots instrumentation to ensure proper calibration when analyzing products.

Industrial Lab Technician Essential Job Functions:

Conducts daily routine and non-routine analytical testing of chemical products and reagents, including raw materials, in process, and final product stages using a combination of wet chemistry and instrumental and analytical techniques.
Uses a range of methods from standard and well-established routines to specially adapted processes.
Prepares standardized lab reagents for lab and plant use.
Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory instruments and equipment.
Records data, observations, and conclusions in spreadsheets and databases.

Industrial Lab Technician Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must meet one of the following experience or education requirements:
Associate or bachelor's Degree* in Chemistry or science related discipline preferred; OR,
High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of work experience in related role; OR,
Military enlisted occupational specialist of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Lab Technician).
Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
Work experience in preparing samples for high purity analyses as well as conducting high purity analyses to obtain accurate results and analyzing resulting data to make reporting decisions based on pre-established specification parameters preferred.
Ability to interpret data, including use of statistical tools and make or recommend adjustments based on findings.
Knowledge of basic laboratory instrumentation and ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on laboratory equipment.
Good written and verbal communication skills, creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to interface with all levels of employees.
Ability to work all applicable shifts (including weekends and holidays), overtime, and call-ins when support is needed.
Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.
