The Opportunity
Assist the Information Services Business unit in safeguarding Council’s digital integrity as an Information and Business Systems Compliance Officer. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, enhances system efficiency, and supports long-term information security strategy through collaboration and strategic solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure operational, procedural and regulatory requirements across Council’s business applications in line with regulatory frameworks are met at all times.
Provide support for Information and Business Systems projects, contracts and procurement activities.
Research and recommend future-proofing strategies and application enhancements, to improve system functionality and performance.
Collaborate with internal teams to identify and recommend strategic business system and information management solutions.
This is a full-time, limited tenure position up to 2 years. The incumbent will work across both Bairnsdale (EGSC) and Sale (WSC).
What we’re looking for:
Experience in business systems compliance and analysis within a regulatory environment.
Strong understanding of information security standards, particularly the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards and the 2014 Privacy and Data Protection Act.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver practical solutions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and support shared service delivery across EGSC and WSC.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
