Reporting to the Information Security Manager, this full-time and permanent position is based in Mumbai, India and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Information Security Department and its’ growth.
Purpose of Role
The Information Security Officer at Vistra will play a pivotal role in implementing and managing the company’s information security strategies globally, focusing on Business Continuity Management, Disaster recovery, and Business Impact Analysis to ensure robust security across all systems ad applications. This position is central to ensuring Vistra’s adherence to its Group Information Security and Business Continuity Policy & Standards, while also being the primary contact for information security within the organisation and driving the continuous improvement of security practices.
Scope
The scope of the Information Security Officer role at Vistra encompasses strategic and operational responsibilities in safeguarding the company's information assets across its extensive global operations, with a particular focus on the Asia region. Reporting directly to the Global Information Security Manager, this role does not have direct reports but involves substantial collaboration with various teams and stakeholders across the organization. Geographically, the position covers Vistra's operations in over 48 jurisdictions, with a significant emphasis on ensuring the security and continuity of systems and processes within the Asia-Pacific markets. The candidate will indirectly influence and guide a broad network of professionals across the technology, compliance, and business units, contributing to Vistra's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of information security and business continuity globally.
Key responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities of the Information Security Officer
Global Information Security Management
Delivery: Implement and manage information security strategies across Vistra, focusing on Asia.
Approach: Adhere to global security procedures while adapting to regional needs.
Collaboration: Work with the global information security team and regional stakeholders.
Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
Delivery: Develop and maintain BCM, DR, and BIA processes.
Approach: Use existing frameworks, Including DORA, conduct annual effectiveness tests.
Collaboration: Partner with IT, HR, and operational teams.
Risk Management
Delivery: Identify and mitigate information security risks.
Approach: Analyse risks using past precedents and implement mitigation strategies.
Collaboration: Engage with security, audit, and business unit leaders.
Audit and Compliance
Delivery: Support audit activities and ensure compliance with regulations.
Approach: Assist in internal and external audits, follow up on findings.
Collaboration: Liaise with compliance, audit teams, and external auditors.
Security Awareness Training
Delivery: Raise security awareness and conduct training.
Approach: Develop engaging programs adapted to regional needs.
Collaboration: Work with HR and managers to deliver training.

Key requirements
• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required.
• Certification in at least one of the following: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or ISO27001 Lead Auditor.
• Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of information security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or similar.
• Advanced Education: A Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field is highly valued but not mandatory.
• Advanced certifications beyond the essentials, such as ISO22301 (Business Continuity Management), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or other relevant advanced cybersecurity certifications.
• Specialization in areas relevant to Vistra's operations, such as financial services cybersecurity qualifications, would be advantageous.
• Proficiency or certification in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) could be beneficial, given the role's potential involvement in project-based work.
