What You'll Be Doing:
• Develop and implement strategies to influence public policy and regulatory frameworks affecting the Company as well as the broader building materials sector. Advocate for the Company's interests at local, state, and federal levels.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, staff, government officials, policymakers, communities, industry trade associations, and non-governmental organizations.
• Monitor regulatory changes, assess their impact on Company operations, and develop strategies to influence policy development.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, legal, and operations teams, to align government affairs strategies with business objectives.
• Identify and manage emerging issues, assess their potential impacts, provide strategic advice, and develop mitigation plans.
• Provide clear and concise communications on public policy issues to internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare reports and presentations on government affairs activities and outcomes for senior management and other stakeholders.
What Are We Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree in political science, Public Policy, Law, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a related field, preferably within the building materials or construction sectors.
• Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes at local, state, and federal levels.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and industry stakeholders.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and political landscapes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks, examples include: Skill in advanced IT principles, methods, standards, and practices sufficient to develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services consists of the management of clinical, administrative, and infrastructure information resources for an integrated, multi-disciplinary health delivery system. Experience in performing cost benefits analysis and favor alternatives to minimize costs in order to insure quality IT support and needs of the organization are met. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
