1. Provide instruction in the instrumentation engineering technology program.
2. Prepare for and use appropriate delivery methods for instructional assignments.
3. Manage his/her classroom/lab/activities to ensure an optimum learning environment for students.
4. Use appropriate methods of evaluating and recording student progress.
5. Make necessary curriculum adjustments to course content.
6. Accommodate students with special learning needs.
7. Attend staff, program and division meetings.
8. Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with industry and educational requirements.
+. Practice good interpersonal and communication skills.
10. Work cooperatively in an interdependent “team” environment.
11. Follow any academic regulations and/or policies adopted by Sask Polytech and/or the Campus.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Specific Accountabilities
Duties
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
1. Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation Engineering Technology and is a member of or eligible for certification with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (TPS) as an P. Tech. or APEGS as a P.Eng. Must become a member as a condition of employment.
OR
Journeyperson Instrumentation and Control Technician in Saskatchewan.
OR
Interprovincial Journeyperson Instrumentation and Control Technician in Saskatchewan plus 5 years of experience.
2. Two years’ recent/relevant experience (two years in the last five) in Instrumentation.
3. Effective communication skills (written and oral).
4. Effective interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
6. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology
7. Effective instructional ability.
8. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
