Job description
This role supports our iconic Standard Life brand and is at the forefront of delivering on our ambitious plans. This role is perfect for a creative and strategic thinker who is passionate about creating compelling content that drives engagement, increases brand awareness and generates leads for our adviser channel.

Reporting to the Intermediary Senior Content Writer, you will be a part of the Content and Social team within our wider Marketing Communications department. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams across marketing and the wider business.

You'll help us produce a range of cut-through adviser content, and on any given day, you could be:
• Writing educational or topical articles for our monthly newsletter
• Scripting a video for a particular service or proposition
• Writing social posts for our various social platforms
• Updating a web page to improve SEO and engagement results
• Reviewing research summaries and proposing the best way to push out supporting content
• Writing adverts or emails as part of a wider campaign
• Conducting senior stakeholder interviews for articles
• Running tone of voice training for small groups of employees, Help bring to life the adviser content strategy with unmissable content that brings our key messages to life, increasing reach and improving engagement across a range of content formats and assets
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Proposition, PR, Distribution and Policy to create and distribute engaging content, such as campaign emails, web content, social posts, webinars and other promotional materials.
• Utilise SEO best practices and keyword research to optimise content for search engines and drive organic traffic
• Take a digital first approach to content creation
• Help manage the editorial and social calendar and ensure timely delivery of high-quality content
• Ensure all content is consistent with our tone of voice, brand identity and editorial guidelines
• Maintain up-to-date digital and channel knowledge and keep abreast of trends, industry changes and content best practice
• Improve the effectiveness of content activity for the relevant area through appropriate measurement and evaluation

Considerable experience in marketing, journalism, copywriting or digital focused roles
• Working knowledge of the intermediary market including savings, investments, and pensions
• Experience of working within the Financial Services industry
• A passion for writing, strong editorial skills and excellent attention to detail
• Experience in digital content creation and social media best practice
• Ability to think creatively and create great story-telling opportunities
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• A deep understanding of tone of voice and the ability to edit content with consistency and attention to detail

Desirable
• Chartered Institute of Marketing qualifications
