Job Title
International SOS is seeking an experienced General Practitioner to provide high-quality healthcare and improve the well-being of patients across a diverse population in Alice Springs, Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
Provides medical services comparable to those offered by a USG Facility Medical Officer (FMO) during clinic hours and after-hours coverage as necessary.
Obtains health history and performs physical examinations.
Diagnoses and directs counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
Prescribes medication in accordance with state statute and professional practice guidelines.
Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with established Health Information Management policies and procedures.
Ensures continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services on a timely basis.
Provides excellent internal/external customer service to assist patients with their healthcare needs.
Arranges referrals for patients requiring services not offered on-site.
Reviews incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) and signs, dates, and follows up in a timely manner.
Assists in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
Participates in outside medical public relations functions.
Commits to continuous learning and adapting to the latest medical advancements.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Knowledge: Expertise in clinical practice and a collaborative spirit to work effectively as part of a team that values patient-centered care.
Strong communication skills and empathetic demeanor.
Required Work Experience: Minimum of five years of experience as a general practice physician.
Required Qualifications: Possess a license to practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPR).
Physical Demands: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Additional Requirements
Must be a US, UK, or Australian citizen.
Must be able to relocate to Alice Springs, Australia for the duration of the contract.
A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation.
You must maintain a current passport during your stay in Australia.
