Our City Parks Irrigation team is in the market for an experienced, self-motivated and hard-working individual who is competent in the installation, maintenance and repairs to both commercial and domestic reticulation systems.
The Irrigation Technician is responsible for:
Undertaking maintenance of the City’s parks, gardens and ovals irrigation systems in an efficient and effective manner
Supervising minor irrigation works projects including the work of others
Participating in the overall development and improvement of activities within the Section
Supporting the City's water conservation objectives
Ensuring Occupational Safety and Health requirements are observed and adhered to
Providing high level customer service to internal and external customers
Ensuring corporate responsibilities are observed and adhered to
What can you bring to the team?
A Certificate III in Irrigation
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in irrigation installation, repair and maintenance of commercial and domestic reticulation systems
Current unrestricted ‘MR’ (Medium Rigid) class national driver’s licence
Knowledge of centralised computer irrigation systems
Previous experience in a parks and gardens environment
Practical experience with hand and precision tools and minor plant
Sound calculation and problem solving
Ability to read and interpret maps, plans and diagrams
Knowledge of artesian bores and the operation of pumps and relative equipment
Basic design knowledge and quantity estimating
Work with limited supervision
Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to participate in a full pre-employment medical that includes drug and ******* testing.
The finer details
This permanent full-time Level 3/4 position attracts a salary range dependent on qualifications and experience. Level Three $72,7+5 - $75,503 (three years relevant industry experience). Level Four $76,368 - $7+,0+3 (Certificate III in Irrigation plus three years industry experience). Both levels include a Commuter Use Vehicle.
