We are seeking a highly skilled IT Technician to join our team at the City of New York's Information Technology Services (ITS). As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the technology needs of both the Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS).
**Key Responsibilities:**
Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to computer equipment and software
Install and maintain computer hardware and software
Provide technical guidance and assistance to other technicians and end-users
Participate in evaluating and deciding on new hardware and software releases
**Requirements:**
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by 24 semester credits in computer science or a related field
One year of satisfactory full-time computer software experience in computer systems development and analysis, applications programming, database administration, maintenance and support, systems programming, data communications, mainframe development, mobile development, web development and design
