Kōrero mō te Tūranga About the Role

Based in Christchurch looking after the Selwyn, Ashburton and Christchurch/Banks Peninsula districts. 

As a people leader, you'll provide engaging and dynamic leadership, ensuring your team performs at its best. You'll integrate operational and functional alignment, driving high performance and delivering quality services to our communities. You'll be a key player in upholding our values, strategies, ways of working, and commitments outlined in our Long-Term and Annual Plans with a focus on improvement.

Lead and inspire a team to achieve Environment Canterbury’s water and land catchment outcomes by delivering operational work programmes with partners and communities
Ensure high performance and quality services that align with our strategic priorities empowering landowners and communities to do the right thing
Collaborate across the organisation to foster a positive culture and achieve strategic goals
Maintain key relationships on behalf of Environment Canterbury

Mōu │ About You

You’ll ideally have a tertiary qualification in environmental management, agricultural science, natural resource management or a similar field, with a sound understanding of farm systems and options to manage environmental impact.

You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative, forward-thinking team committed to environmental sustainability having a tangible impact on the community and the environment.

More About You

Minimum of five years’ experience in an operational water and land environment
Experience with the Resource Management Act and associated legislation
Demonstrated leadership in operational planning and resource coordination, turning strategy into action and outcomes
Experience in stakeholder engagement and collaboration, including landowners, iwi, and community groups
Proficiency in project and financial management
Commitment to Te Ao Māori and the Treaty of Waitangi
