Job Description

Job Title: Head of Compliance (SMF16 & SMF17)

Location: London, UK



A rapidly growing fintech company entering the UK market following exceptional success in Europe are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Compliance to join their team in the UK (remote working possible). This senior role will hold both SMF16 and SMF17 titles, responsible for building and leading the compliance frameworks and eventually the teams as they expand our presence in the UK market.



Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance frameworks and policies in line with UK regulatory requirements.
Act as the primary point of contact with regulatory bodies, ensuring all compliance obligations are met.
Lead and manage the compliance team, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of compliance across the organization.
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of compliance controls, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive.
Foster a culture of compliance and ethical behaviour throughout the organization.
Serve as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), overseeing anti-money laundering (AML) policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.


Qualifications:

Extensive experience in a senior compliance role within the fintech or financial services industry.
Proven track record of working with UK regulators and holding SMF16 and SMF17 titles.
Strong knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic thinker with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
