We are seeking a talented and experienced Specialist Anaesthetist to join our team at Southland Hospital. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility, providing high-quality care to patients across a wide range of specialties.

About the Role:

The Specialist Anaesthetist will be responsible for providing specialist anaesthetic assessment and care to patients at Southland Hospital. This will involve working closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the individual needs of each patient.

Key Responsibilities:

">
">
Provide specialist anaesthetic assessment and care to patients at Southland Hospital.
">
Develop and implement treatment plans that meet the individual needs of each patient.
">
Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
">
Participate in teaching and training of Anaesthetic Registrars in the ANZCA accredited department.
">
Requirements:

">
">
Hold or be eligible to hold a valid registration with the NZ Medical Council recognising you as a Specialist Anaesthetist.
">
Competent in Te Ao Maori, Tikanga, and Te Reo Maori, or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
">
Experience in projects/initiatives giving effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly in healthcare settings.
">
Excellent general anaesthesia skill set, with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships within and external to their team.
">
Ability to demonstrate excellent decision making and priority setting in a clinical environment.
">
Enthusiasm for teaching and passing on knowledge to junior members of staff.
