Job Description

About the Role:

\
The New Zealand Government's procurement branch is seeking a skilled professional to join its Collaborative Procurement team. This team manages a portfolio of framework agreements that deliver common goods and services to government agencies.

\
As a key member of this team, you will focus on driving innovation and adding value from key government suppliers. You will embed a systematic approach to supplier relationship management to improve the NZGP's understanding and engagement with the wider market.

\
You will apply your finely tuned market understanding, commercial acumen, and negotiating skills to enhance the value of AoG contracts across their lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and leading a best-in-class supplier relationship management programme to optimise contract performance, service delivery, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement a supplier relationship management programme to drive innovation and value addition
\
Build productive relationships with AoG and government strategic suppliers
\
Provide expertise and support to manage supplier performance, expectations, standards, and risk
\
Continuously monitor industry developments, apply learnings, and engage with market players as part of approach-to-market exercises
\
\
Skill and Experience Required:

\
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong track record of category management or similar commercial experience within government or the private sector. You will also have proven ability to analyse complex commercial and procurement situations, and a history of proactive stakeholder engagement across the procurement lifecycle.

\
You will have broad experience at influencing and negotiating with senior decision makers, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop effective working relationships with suppliers and customers. Additionally, you will have considerable experience at delivering significant projects on target and on time.
