Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Blockchain Developer with expertise in Bitcoin and Layer 2
solutions such as the Lightning Network. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in
designing, developing, and maintaining decentralized systems for our "learn-to-earn"
platform, which rewards users in satoshis (sats) for educational engagement and records
credentials immutably on the Bitcoin blockchain.
Key Responsibilities
1. Blockchain Architecture and Development
o Design and implement blockchain-based systems that leverage Bitcoin and its Layer 2 technologies.
o Develop and deploy scalable, secure, and efficient smart contracts or scripts specific to Bitcoin transactions.
o Build and maintain infrastructure for issuing certificates on the Bitcoin blockchain, ensuring immutability and accessibility.
2. Layer 2 Integration
o Utilize Layer 2 solutions, such as the Lightning Network, for instant, low-cost micropayments to reward user activities.
o Develop payment channels and integrate them into the platform to enable seamless transactions.
o Optimize the scalability and speed of Bitcoin Layer 2 protocols for a smooth user experience.
3. Security and Compliance
o Ensure robust security measures are implemented in blockchain operations and smart contracts.
o Monitor and address potential vulnerabilities in Bitcoin Layer 2 integrations.
o Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to align the system with relevant cryptocurrency regulations.
4. Collaboration and Integration
o Work closely with frontend and backend developers to integrate blockchain systems with the platform's application.
o Support the full development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, architecture design, development, testing, and deployment.
o Troubleshoot and resolve blockchain-related technical challenges.
5. Research and Innovation
o Stay informed about the latest advancements in Bitcoin, Lightning Network, and other related Layer 2 solutions.
o Experiment with innovative blockchain features that can enhance theplatform's functionality.
o Propose improvements to the existing blockchain infrastructure to keep it ahead of industry standards
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Technical Expertise
o Strong proficiency in Bitcoin Cor e and the underlying principles of Bitcoin blockchain (UTXO model, transactions, scripts).
o In-depth understanding of Layer 2 solutions like the Lightning Network , Sidechains (e.g., Liquid Network), or State Channels.
o Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ or Rust for Bitcoin Core development; Python, Go, or JavaScript for application and scripting.
o Hands-on experience with cryptographic techniques, including hash functions, digital signatures, and Merkle trees.
o Experience with Lightning Network libraries and tools like lnd, c-lightning, or eclair for Lightning node operations & LNURL, Keysend, and AMP for advanced payment functionalities.
• Blockchain Development Tools
o Experience with Bitcoin Improvement Proposals (BIPs) such as SegWit, Taproot, and Schnorr signatures.
o Familiarity with testnets (e.g., regtest, simnet) for development and debugging.
o Knowledge of wallets, key management, and multisignature setups.
• General Development Skills
o Familiarity with RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and integrating backend services with blockchain.
o Proficiency in DevOps tools for managing blockchain nodes and services (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
o Strong understanding of distributed systems, consensus mechanisms, and decentralization principles
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with decentralized identity solutions or verifiable credentials on the Bitcoin blockchain.
• Contributions to open-source blockchain projects.
• Understanding of token economics and incentivization models within Bitcoin and Layer 2 ecosystems.
• Prior experience building "earn-to-learn" platforms or gamified systems.
• Familiarity with other Bitcoin-related protocols such as RGB or Taro for asset issuance.
