About the Role
The Department of Conservation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead system change initiatives and drive strategic improvement priorities in statutory planning documents. As a Programme Lead, you will partner with senior leaders to champion the development of consistent systems, policies, and guidelines that align with the Department's vision: Nature is thriving in Aotearoa Te Oranga o te Ao Turoa.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with Treaty partners to understand their aspirations for the form and function of statutory planning documents.
Utilize analysis, problem definition, options development, and implementation skills to drive improvement.
Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders, providing advice and recommendations to senior leaders.
Requirements
Proven problem-solving skills, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities.
Knowledge of environmental planning disciplines, legislation, or policy development is useful.
Experience leading programmes of work, with excellent organisational and coordination skills.
A sound working knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and experience working with Treaty partners is beneficial.
Strong interpersonal abilities and successful development and implementation of improvements and innovations.
