Are you an experienced Nurse Unit Manager who values being part of a caring and compassionate team? A fantastic opportunity exists to become part of the Operations Team, supporting the coordination of patient flow and staffing on a casual basis.
Where you'll be working
Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than +00,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care. The Operational Nurse Unit Manager Level 2, Prince of Wales Hospital will ensure the operations of patient flow and staffing will be maintained and is managed effectively and efficiently. As the Nursing Unit Manager you will serve a pivotal role as a visible leader and role model for nurses across SESLHD. Your role is diverse and dynamic, focusing on supporting nurses and midwives to deliver safe, high-quality care.
The Operational-NUM2 is pivotal in supporting the coordination of patient flow, staffing and leadership of the professions of nursing and midwifery to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient use of resources. The operational NUM2 will be responsible for management of unplanned leave, patient flow and NHPPD in the after-hours period. To achieve this, you will empower and motivate your team, coordinate and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and identify and improve workforce factors to provide enhanced patient outcomes.
As the Operational Nursing Unit Manager you will utilise your extensive experience and/or qualifications to provide leadership and direction for quality improvement and clinical service standards; lead skill development in coaching, clinical supervision and leadership; act as a role model, be responsible for engaging with staff, carers, patients and consumers to facilitate, support, and evaluate practice change related to patient care, fostering excellence in clinical, educational and professional leadership.
