Junior Embedded Software Engineer – Join a Leading Monitoring Solutions Company in Sheffield!
KO2’s client, a well-established company in Sheffield, is making waves in the oil and gas separation systems market and is now looking to expand into the domestic water market. With 80 employees, including 40 in Sheffield, and a small but dedicated R&D team, they are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their growing team.
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and refining innovative monitoring solutions, with a focus on gas detection systems in domestic properties. The company has a few trial sites already, and they are eager to develop cutting-edge IoT solutions. With all development taking place in-house, this is an exciting opportunity to work on the very latest technologies.
You will be working closely with a team of 5 in R&D, including 1 mechanical engineer and 1 embedded engineer, to deliver high-quality solutions for the domestic market. The role offers an excellent opportunity for an Embedded Software Engineer with 12 months of experience to broaden their skills in both embedded software and IoT development.
What We’re Looking For:
• At least 12 months’ experience as an Embedded Software Engineer, IoT Engineer, or PC Software Engineer
• Proficiency in Embedded C, PIC16, ESP32, STM32, and FreeRTOS (especially on the ESP32)
• An electronics degree or computer science background
• Strong passion for working in embedded systems and IoT
• Experience with PCB design (Altium preferred)
• Embedded Software Engineer role with 80/20 split towards software development
• Office-based position in Sheffield
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000, depending on experience
