Role Overview

Caroola offers accountancy, umbrella payroll, and tax solutions for the UK’s freelancers, sole traders, and small businesses.

As part of a broader business wide technology strategy, Caroola has recently gone Live with Mulesoft to support integrations on the accountancy and tax side of the business. This will be extended in 2026 to also cover the umbrella payroll side of the business (Parasol).

This role will be a 1-month contract to complete additional APIs to support the accountancy side of the business.

Role and responsibilities:

As a Mulesoft Developer you will deliver new APIs to support the accountancy side of the business. Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
• Analyze, design, and develop services and integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint platform.
• Manage, deploy, and monitor Mule applications on cloud or on-premises environments.
• Create and maintain technical design documents and diagrams.
• Implement APIs as per the design specification.
• Build and maintain data mappings using DataWeave.
• Design and develop MUnit Tests for APIs and integrations.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts, and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web-based business application

Skills and Experience Required:
• Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
• Proficiency in API design and implementation.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns and best practices.
• Familiarity with DataWeave and MUnit Testing.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
