Job Description

What This Job Involves –

The Maintenance Mechanic supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and kitchen equipment and systems in assigned facilities. Assists Mobile Engineers (HVAC/R) and Control Systems Technicians in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks. This role will be responsible for everyday maintenance activities from base building repairs to inspections and walk throughs at the facility. We are looking for an all-around team player that is wanting to work with and contribute to a collaborative team.

For this role you will need entry-level skills in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work to join our team at our client's facility in Latham, New York. This role offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced trade professionals, learn new skills, and contribute to the efficient operation of the facility.

What is your day to day?
• Maintain and repair a wide range of building systems, including fire/life safety, HVAC, critical power, plumbing, security, and others.
• Perform regular inspections of emergency equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Execute diverse maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, lighting installations, and general facility upkeep.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain an efficient and safe work environment.
• Deliver mail and packages as needed.
• Conduct daily, weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly inspections of emergency lights, fire extinguishers, and safety eyewash stations.
• Adhere to preventive maintenance schedules.
• Perform general interior and exterior maintenance tasks.
• Comply with all safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping practices.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid state driver's license
• Entry-level skills in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated
• Willingness to learn new technologies and building management systems
• Ability to work at heights occasionally (training for aerial lift operation will be provided)
• Basic understanding of both: computer skills and using a work order system.
