About the Role
The Legal Services team plays a pivotal role in making Otautahi Christchurch a vibrant, prosperous, and sustainable city. We're seeking an Associate Legal Counsel who is a driven, energetic, and practical legal professional.

Main Responsibilities
Represent the Council in Public, Regulatory, and Litigation matters related to Building, Health, Dog Control, Food Hygiene, Sale and Supply of Alcohol, Fencing, Drainage, Official Information, Privacy, and Transport.
Provide advice, undertake research, and complete opinion work on civil litigation matters including breach of contract or tort, weather tightness claims, and general commercial, insurance, and construction disputes.
Deliver technically robust legal advice and deploy stakeholder legal skills to achieve the Council's strategic and tactical goals and objectives.

Working Arrangements
This is a full-time permanent position based at 53 Hereford Street, Christchurch. The salary band for this position goes from $115,466 to $128,2+5 per annum based on a 40-hour week.
