Senior Systems Engineer

Job description
Up to $170k base + super + bonus + shares
Remote working (candidates are required to be Sydney based)
Kubernetes + AWS + Terraform + Linux

Intrinzic have partnered with a global tech company, to help scale their Systems Engineering Team.

To kick things off, we are looking for a Systems/DevOps Engineer with a strong Linux background, who has extensive experience with AWS, Terraform and will be the Kubernetes SME within a mid-sized, globally distributed team.

About the role:

In this role, you will work across the core part of the company’s platform, ensuring engineers have the right tools available to make their builds better, faster and more reliable!

You will join a growing, collaborative team of Systems Engineers, who pride themselves on quality, efficiency and innovation. In this team, you will be the SME for Kubernetes and will be responsible for coming up with solutions and recommendations, whilst providing mentorship to your peers.

You will also liaise and work closely with the Product Team to understand requirements, co-design quality solutions and bring ideas to life!

What you will bring:
5+ years’ experience as a DevOps or Systems Engineer
Strong Linux Systems Engineering experience
Strong experience working with AWS
3+ years’ experience working with Kubernetes – worked with clusters in different regions
Experience writing Terraform modules
Scripting in Python or Bash
Experience working in a remote team – ability to manage and own your delivery effectively

The ideal candidate:
Vast experience working with AWS at scale
Experience working with multi-region Kubernetes clusters, showcasing best practice, knowledge of pitfalls and the ability to provide recommendations and solutions
Experience setting up Linux systems/environments from scratch and supported multiple technology teams
Experience communicating with globally distributed remote teams
