About Information Technology Department

The Information Technology department at Ashoka is responsible for providing state of the art IT and AV services required by the faculty, staff, and students at the University. The IT team consists of motivated and mission driven individuals with a focus on enhancing the experience of all stakeholders. The Information Technology team engages with various stakeholders for their infrastructure and automation needs and provides technical support, resources, and innovative solutions in alignment with their academic, research, and administrative requirements.

The Information Technology department consists of the Infrastructure and Systems sub-teams. Infrastructure Team maintains and supports the university network, internet including wireless access across campus, servers, phone systems, AV in the classrooms and other spaces, labs etc.

Systems Team manages, develops, and maintains academic and administrative software solutions for Ashoka students, faculty, and administrative departments.

Job Description

We work on different application catering all stockholders of the University, you will be responsible for building beautifully curated, performant, and reliable web/app platforms. If you can think modularly and want to create beautiful tools, you're at the right place. We are looking out for engineers who come with a solid programming background and an aptitude to apply cutting edge UI frameworks.

Responsibilities

- Design and build efficient, scalable systems that are used by people across the university and outside.
- Own what you build as you create, test and refine what’s under the hood of our pages and services
- Collaborate with managers, designers and software engineers to ensure design and quality vision is maintained and deliverables completed on time.
- Work with real time feedback from users (external and internal) to make the products better.
- Document what you build.

Skills

- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with .Net framework
- Have strong hands-on experience with SQL
- Knowledge of latest JS libraries and frameworks
- Should be able to work alone on a project or module
- Candidate with good written and verbal communication skills are preferable
- Experience with ORM framework like Entity Framework or Dapper

Eligibility

- Bachelor/Master’s degree or equivalent in the field of computer science or business management
- Minimum 3-4 years of professional experience
- Ability to work with teammates and at the individual level
