Poornima University invites applications for a faculty position (Associate Professor/ Professor) in Architecture & Planning. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in teaching, research, and service in the field of architecture, urban planning, and related disciplines. This role involves mentoring students, conducting scholarly research, developing curriculum, and engaging in professional and community outreach.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching & Curriculum Development:
• Design and deliver undergraduate and/or graduate courses in architecture, urban design, and planning.
• Develop course materials, syllabi, and assessments in alignment with accreditation standards.
• Supervise studio-based learning, design projects, and thesis work.
• Incorporate emerging trends, technologies, and sustainable practices into teaching.
• Use innovative pedagogical approaches, including digital tools, BIM, GIS, and AI-driven design methods.

2. Research & Scholarly Activities:
• Conduct independent and collaborative research in architecture, urban planning, sustainable design, and related fields.
• Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and books.
• Seek research funding through grants, sponsorships, and industry partnerships.
• Guide graduate students in research methodologies, dissertations, and publications.

3. Academic Mentorship & Student Support:
• Advise students on academic and professional development.
• Supervise doctoral and master’s students in research projects.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration among students and faculty.

4. Professional & Community Engagement:
• Collaborate with industry professionals, urban planners, and government agencies.
• Participate in community-based architectural and planning projects.
• Serve on academic and professional committees, contributing to policy and curriculum development.
• Engage in knowledge exchange programs, workshops, and consultancy services.

5. Institutional & Administrative Roles:
• Contribute to the governance of the department and university.
• Participate in faculty meetings, accreditation processes, and quality assurance activities.
• Assist in student admissions, program reviews, and strategic planning.

Qualifications:
• A Doctoral/ Master's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related discipline (or extensive professional experience for a practice-based role).
• Professional license or certification (e.g., RIBA, AIA, COA, LEED AP) is preferred.
• Proven teaching experience at the university level.
• Strong research record with publications and grants.
• Expertise in sustainable design, computational design, housing, smart cities, or urban resilience is a plus.

• Proficiency in architectural software (AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, GIS, etc.).
