Job Description

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive Cyber Security Officer for an initial 12-month contract in Darwin. In this role, you will provide cybersecurity support, address incidents, contribute to policy development, deliver training, and assist with risk management and audits.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with a degree in Cybersecurity or equivalent. Experience within utility organisations or the Northern Territory Government is highly desirable.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Level 1 Support: Provide first response to cyber security issues or requests raised. Contribute to the development and maintenance of cyber security policies, procedures, and standards.
Cyber Security Awareness and Training: Help develop and deliver cyber security awareness and training programs and materials to build capability.
Risk Management: Participate in assessing and managing cyber security risks associated with third-party vendors. Assist in the coordination of cyber security audits, assessments, and remediation activities, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and objectives.
Select Criteria

Customer Service Focus: Demonstrated customer service focus, including excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
Problem Solving: Ability to utilise a lateral approach to problem solving, demonstrating a logical thought process to achieve problem resolution.
ICT Skills: Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and management with ICT including safeguarding systems, networks, and data with the ability to deliver efficient and effective support to incidents and recommend solutions to ICT issues to a diverse range of non-technical stakeholders.
Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in the provision of remote assistance and on-site support to end users.
Requirements

Australian Citizenship: Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Working Rights.
Driver's License: Valid Australian driver's license or able to obtain.
Criminal Clearance: Valid National Police Clearance (NPC) or able to obtain.
