Job Description

PO1 Student Engineer (Asset Management)
This is a 12-month contract position with a salary range of $28.84 to $37.+5. The role is based on the Gold Coast.

We are proud to partner with a Queensland Government department that manages the state's transport systems and infrastructure.

As an Engineer (Civil), you will provide technical advice to ensure efficient and effective asset management of state-controlled road infrastructure within the region.

You will work primarily on road works program development using big data platforms for different elements, including signage, line marking, rehabilitation, and resurfacing.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct assessments of road infrastructure assets following updated engineering best practice and prepare reports on recommended engineering solutions to particular asset conditions from a life cycle perspective.
Analyse infrastructure condition data along with traffic, environment, economic, and other relevant parameters in a big-data platform to develop whole-of-life asset management treatment options.
Support asset management strategies for transport infrastructure that minimise whole-of-life costs across the elements.
Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, including business case development, to ensure delivery of program outcomes, value for money, and best practice are achieved.
Determine the engineering requirements, including materials, critical components, and systems, involved in supporting project management and delivery.
Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements necessary for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects.
Requirements
Second or third year in a Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
Open driver's license and white card required.
Strong oral/written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Display initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously and unsupervised while contributing to the wider team's objectives.
