Job Description
NXT GIG is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Database Manager to oversee our database systems and ensure their integrity, performance, and availability. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our databases, including design, implementation, security, and maintenance. You will work closely with development and operations teams to optimize database queries, enforce data integrity, and provide support for database-related applications. Responsibilities
Manage and maintain database systems, ensuring their performance, security, and reliability
Design and implement database architectures and data models to support applications and business needs
Monitor database performance and conduct tuning to optimize query performance and resource utilization
Establish and enforce database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data
Collaborate with development teams to support database-related projects and provide troubleshooting assistance
Develop and maintain backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability
Stay updated on industry trends and database technologies to recommend improvements and best practices
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Proven experience as a Database Manager or in a similar role, focusing on database management and operations
Strong proficiency with database management systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Experience with database design, development, and performance tuning
Familiarity with database security measures and best practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders
