Senior Software Engineer In Test

They are looking for multiple skilled Software Engineers in Test to join their Sydney based team. About The Role

Please note you must be able to relocate to Sydney.

As a Senior Software Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, security, and stability of software applications. You will design and maintain automation test frameworks, minimise production issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex business challenges. Your work will help engineers deliver more efficiently while ensuring customers can manage their finances through secure and reliable applications.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain automation testing frameworks using TypeScript and modern testing tools
Improve code quality through test automation, performance testing, and best practices
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers in an agile environment
Contribute to and shape the team’s approach to quality assurance and test strategy
Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and provide feedback on testing best practices
Work with CI/CD pipelines to integrate and automate testing processes
Identify and resolve software defects, ensuring minimal production issues
Stay informed of emerging technologies and industry best practices

What We’re Looking For

Five or more years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js
Expertise in testing methodologies, test-driven development (TDD), and frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
Experience in designing and developing automation, integration, and performance testing platforms
Strong understanding of software security principles, including OWASP best practices
Experience using cloud device farms such as BrowserStack or AWS Device Farm
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
Experience working with AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, EKS, SQS, and RDS
Proficiency with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL
Hands-on experience with API development and testing tools such as Newman, Postman, or SOAP UI

Desirable

Experience with contract testing and microservices testing
Knowledge of web accessibility guidelines and testing approaches
Exposure to performance and reliability testing
