Job Description

Job Overview

The New Zealand Government's Climate Change Commission plays a crucial role in developing and implementing climate change policies. We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our team until the end of June 2026.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the development of project initiation documents, scoping, and analytical products.
Collaborate with other teams to input into statutory deliverables.
Support project directors in developing advice and reports.
Undertake qualitative analysis from a western and Te Ao Maori lens.
Framing and communicating advice to recognise audience needs and concerns.
Making sound decisions to keep the organisation moving forward.
Leading multiple pieces of work concurrently.
Engaging with iwi/Maori in a manner that upholds Tikanga and recognises the Crown - Maori partnership under the Treaty of Waitangi.
Qualifications

An experienced analyst with excellent quantitative skills.
A willingness to innovate and learn.
Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
Analytical and critical reasoning skills.
Experience in procuring services and managing contracts.
Strong quantitative and qualitative skills.
Understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi/the Treaty of Waitangi, Treaty principles, te ao Maori, and experience engaging with iwi and Maori.
