Arconic is currently in search of an Inventory Accounting Specialist to join our Kitts Green Team in Birmingham.

Responsibilities

Key objectives

To provide support relative to cost accounting. To assist in the management and maintenance of inventory processes and controls. To assist and complete general accounting functions, operational improvements and other accounting projects.

Primary Responsibilities
• Assisting in the management of cost and Inventory accounting; reporting including KPIs and costing dashboard;
• Assisting sales team with product costs queries;
• Assistance with the forecasting and budgeting of inventory levels, costs of goods sold and overheads;
• Ensure compliance with internal controls related to inventory and cost accounting ;
• Month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation and analysis related to cost of goods sold, as well as inventory valuation, balances, adjustments and reserves;
• Preparation of standards (annual review and costs update);
• Stock take management;
• Management of R&D tax reclaim;
• Manage ad-hoc group queries.

Qualifications

You will need
• University degree in a relevant field
• To be working towards either ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
• Operational finance experience in a manufacturing organisation
• Ability to understand and manage cost/inventory accounting
• Experience preparing financial forecasts
• Knowledge of internal control processes and ability to design processes to mitigate financial and business risk
• Ability to manage reporting requirements for a large US corporation
• Strong Excel skills with an analytical mind

Preferred Skills
• Qualified accountant with either ACA, ACCA and CIMA
• Previous experience working in Finance for a large US corporation
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting requirements.
• Knowledge and skills to ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
• Excellent communication skills
• Be a quick learner with a growth mindset

• Ability to develop relationships and work as part of a team
