Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Machine Operator with expertise in manual grinding. As a crucial member of our team, you will play a vital role in the process of repairing and servicing aerospace components.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and oversee manual grinding machines to repair and overhaul aerospace components.- Perform precise grinding operations to achieve specific dimensional requirements.- Expertly handle various tools and equipment related to manual grinding, similar to those used by a toolmaker.- Read and interpret technical drawings and other specifications.- Conduct quality checks to ensure the accuracy and quality of the finished product.- Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organised work environment.- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks.- Provide suggestions for improving processes and optimising workflow.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Machine Operator, specifically skilled in manual grinding operations.- Proficient in operating and maintaining manual grinding machines or similar equipment.- Knowledge of grinding techniques, tools, and measurements, similar to that of a toolmaker.- Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work in a team environment.- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.- Prior experience in the aerospace industry is preferred but not essential.
