Job Description
About Us
We believe that everyone deserves a home. Breaking Ground operates nearly 4,000 units of housing across New York City, along with housing in upstate New York and Connecticut. Our supportive housing model is widely recognized as a proven and cost-effective solution to chronic homelessness.
We didn't stop at providing housing. Our programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.
As a leading provider of affordable housing, we offer a range of services to support our residents, including comprehensive onsite social services and property management. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for all members of our community.
This role is part of our maintenance team, responsible for maintaining the common areas and apartments of our residential buildings. The successful candidate will have three years of comparable work experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be skilled at operating power tools. They will also have basic knowledge of electric and plumbing systems, as well as the ability to lift and move furniture and appliances.
