Fulfill a crucial role in the maintenance and operation of high-pressure boilers within the City of Chicago's infrastructure. As a Stationary Fireman, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of heating and ventilation systems, water treatment systems, and pumping stations.
Key Responsibilities
Start and stop boilers as directed by a licensed Operating Engineer.
Monitor boiler operations to maintain efficient fuel consumption rates.
Record daily boiler room readings and conditions in operating logs.
Identify problems with boilers and related equipment through monitoring instruments.
Requirements
One year of experience working with boilers and related equipment.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to 80 pounds, and operate hand tools.
