Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Care/Medication Technician to join our team at Integral Senior Living, part of the Discovery Senior Living family. The successful candidate will provide hands-on care and emotional support to our residents while maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide physical and emotional support to residents, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Observe and report changes in resident conditions, including skin, behavior, alertness, weight, dietary, and participation in activities.
Respond promptly to security system and resident call bells.
Notify supervisors and Health Care Coordinators of increased care needs.
Assist with continence management and maintain cleanliness of resident suites and community restrooms.
Serve and collect food trays, reporting meal refusals or loss of appetite.
Maintain cleanliness of resident rooms and work areas.
Practice good standard care precautions, promoting hygiene, health, and dignity.
Engage residents in activities of daily living, life skills, and life enrichment activities.
Greet and assist internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors, and team members.
Perform resident laundry as assigned.
Medication Tech Duties:

Review service plans to learn pertinent information about residents.
Assist/observe medications and treatments using the medication observation record and Six Rights of Medication Pass.
Document and initial medication administration records, including refusal or missed doses.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information, including medication.
Report resident concerns to Nurses and/or Health Care Coordinators.
Restock medication carts after each pass.
Count narcotics with another Medication Care Manager or Nurse each shift.
Maintain and clean the Medication Room, med charts, treatment carts for neatness, cleanliness, and availability of medications.
Follow re-fill process for medications.
Participate in Service Plan development and monthly updates.
Take and record temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, and respiration rates.
Report occupational exposures immediately.
Qualifications:

Certified Nurse's Aid certification preferred.
High School diploma/GED.
Must be 18 years of age.
CPR Certification required.
First Aid Certification required.
Previous experience working with seniors preferred.
