Lighting Technician

Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Lighting Maintenance Technician to join our team at Electra Grid Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of various lighting systems, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
• Inspection and Assessment:
• Conduct regular inspections of indoor and outdoor lighting systems to identify issues and potential areas for improvement.
• Evaluate the performance of bulbs, fixtures, and wiring, noting any discrepancies or signs of wear.
• Routine Maintenance:
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including replacing bulbs, cleaning fixtures, and addressing minor electrical issues.
• Ensure that lighting systems comply with safety standards and industry regulations.
• Repair and Troubleshooting:
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning lighting fixtures and components.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems, ballast issues, and other technical concerns to restore optimal performance.
• Replacement and Upgrades:
• Replace faulty or outdated lighting fixtures, ballasts, and wiring as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to implement upgrades and improvements to enhance overall lighting efficiency.
• Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements performed.
• Document equipment specifications, model numbers, and warranty information.
• Customer Interaction:
• Communicate with clients to understand their lighting needs and preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• Previous experience as a Lighting Maintenance Technician or similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, lighting components, and safety protocols.
• Certification in electrical maintenance or related field is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy equipment.
• Comfort working at heights and in various indoor and outdoor environments.

Job Duties and Requirements:
• Able / willing to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
• Able / willing to work out of a Bucket Truck with working heights not to exceed 40’
• Able / willing to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.
• Must be able to attain DOT Medical card
• Able / willing to lift in excess of 50 lbs., when required.
• Able / willing to work outside, frequently in inclement weather.
• Able / willing to work Overtime, when required.
