Backend Software Engineer

Title: Back-end Software Engineer
Location: Remote (Greater Boston or eastern time zone preferred)

Summary:
We are looking for a backend developer (1-3 years) to work on our hybrid serverless application and database infrastructure. A successful candidate will have strong relational database skills and experience with distributed computing using asynchronous publish/subscribe communications. Our software stack is a hybrid serverless/serverful architecture. We utilize several cloud services in conjunction with agents running on our servers to augment processing of business logic. This is a small team that works closely with the Chief Software Architect.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of cloud-based, web applications with a high degree of scalability, reliability, and availability.
Collaborate extensively with product management, research & engineering teams to deliver complex large-scale projects
Show initiative and enthusiasm in tackling challenging problems with innovative designs
Qualifications:
Strong relational database skills
UNIX experience
Java experience
Strong technical documentation skills
A successful candidate will also have experience or interest in:
Distributed computing
Non-relational databases
Cloud-deployed services
