Above Scaffolding Pty Ltd is an Engineered Scaffolding Specialist, offering innovative access solutions for hire and sale. We serve a diverse range of industries including Civil & Infrastructure, Medium-Rise & High-Rise Construction, Building Maintenance, and Bridge Maintenance & Repair.

We require an experienced Industrial Mechanic Specialist to join our team. As part of our operations, you will be responsible for maintaining our equipment to the highest safety standards.

The Role

">
This is a full-time permanent position, with a salary between $70k and $80k plus superannuation, depending on experience. You will be based at our Facility in Smithfield NSW with occasional site visits. You will report to the Operations Manager and coordinate with our Yard Manager.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Compiling equipment lists for projects, including Mechanical and Electrical gear;
">
Checking stock levels and performing testing where required;
">
Assembling equipment with relevant records for maintenance history;
">
Testing and tagging equipment, and saving documents into job-data packages;
">
Liaising with our mechanical fitter for repairs and services, and maintaining minimum stock levels;
">
Performing Testing of Skyclimber Hoists and skylocks on our test bed;
">
Updating and maintaining a maintenance system using App/Trello-based software;
">
Methodically logging changes and updating our system for goods out and returns;
">
Setting limit switches and load cell calibration;
">
Electrical testing and tagging;
">
Rigging inspection;
">
Inspection and tagging for working at heights equipment;
">
Manual handling when packing goods;
">
Occasional travel to site for testing and tagging of equipment;
">
Ensuring the safety of yourself and others by following Above Scaffolding's safety policies and procedures;
">
Supporting the development and sustenance of a continuous improvement and innovative culture.

Requirements

">
To succeed in this role, you must have previous experience working in the Swinging Stage environment. You should be methodical and able to work independently.

You will need to support the delivery of projects and safely maximise reliability.

You should be multi-skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines, with a good understanding of both. Knowledge of Skyclimber equipment is ideal.

You should be proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, able to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and procedures.

Minimum 5 years' experience working in swinging stage equipment with a good understanding of safety procedures and design aspects.

Prior experience compiling equipment and maintaining records is essential.

Understand rigging systems and have previous experience performing safety inspections on rigging equipment. You must be classed as competent.

You should be classed as competent in Testing and Tagging harnesses and working at heights equipment, and Testing and tagging of 240v Electrical Portable equipment.

Previous experience using Patguard or similar testing equipment is necessary.

Experience Testing of Hoists under load is also required.

Forklift licence is an advantage.

You should have practical skills for various small repairs and be able to use hand tools.

You should be physically fit and able to manually handle equipment.

Good communication skills are essential.

A Full driving licence Class C is mandatory.

Police and Driving Checks will be required.
