Hotel Arts Group is currently seeking a Casual Houseperson to work in our Housekeeping Department.

The role of the Houseperson is to maintain the public, employee, retail, and guest floor areas of the Hotel Arts Complex, so as to meet the needs and expectations of the guests and employees of Hotel Arts. As these are 2 separate positions, this employee will be trained in both areas and assigned as needed based on business levels.

Job Type: Casual
Schedule: Flexible schedule is essential. Must be available to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Wage: Starting at $18.50/hour
The Houseperson does this by completing the following tasks:

Clean the public spaces of the Hotel Arts Complex as outlined on a task list on a daily basis. This includes the lobby, fitness centre, pool area, office areas, staff locker rooms, stairwells, backspaces and corridors, parkade, and exterior spaces.
Graffiti removal
Power washing awnings, front drive, and entrances
Carpet and upholstery cleaning as assigned
Reporting of all maintenance concerns
Maintain guest room hallways and service areas as outlined on a task list on a daily basis.
Vacuum guest room hallways as needed.
Collect linens in support of Room Attendants as needed.
Undertake special cleaning projects [e.g. guest room windows] as time and seasonal bookings allow.
Assist sorting and folding of laundry as needed
Our ideal candidate will have:

Flexible schedule is essential. Must be available to work a mixture of weekday, weekend, evenings, and holidays as business levels dictate. We are a 24/7 operation in service to our guests. Shifts can fall between the hours of 7 am to 11:30 pm, Sunday to Saturday.
1-2+ Years’ experience in Housekeeping in Hotels or janitorial services companies an asset.
Valid Class 5 Driver's License and experience in driving a 2-ton truck (required for Laundry delivery as needed)
Ability to operate various pieces of cleaning equipment including floor scrubbing and buffing equipment, shampoo equipment, and power washing equipment will be considered an asset.
Standing, walking, and other ranges of movement for long periods of time and some heavy lifting required.
Valid First Aid Certificate and WHMIS/Chemical Handling courses an asset
Position may be subject to a criminal background check.
