Work with a small and dedicated team to provide legal and ethical access to the National Library’s collection.

We are seeking to fill the EL1 Senior Advisor, Rights Management role in the Library’s Collection Branch up until 22 August 2026.

This is a leadership role in the team managing the rights and access conditions to collection material in the National Library of Australia. This position requires a thorough understanding of rights, licensing and intellectual property, Indigenous cultural intellectual property, copyright, and privacy legislation.

You will guide the team to deliver sound and timely advice regarding rights and access to the Library’s collection to internal and external stakeholders. Your responsibilities also encompass strategic and business planning, performance management, mentoring and identifying development needs across the section.

This role offers the opportunity to forge strong relationships with external stakeholders to develop robust rights management policies across the cultural sector.

The Opportunity

This role is only available to ongoing National Library of Australia and APS employees as a temporary transfer at level and/or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity until 22 August 2026.
