POSITIONS: Full-Time Early Childhood Educator

LOCATION: Port McNeill, BC

HOURS: 20-35

WAGE: up to $31.00/hr.

North Island Community Services Society is a registered charity, that has successfully been providing community-based services to the Mount Waddington region for 45 years.

Happy Trails is a fully licensed, 40 spot Childcare Centre, for infant- 5 years. We provide a fun, safe and child-centered learning environment for young children.

We believe that every child deserves to be valued for their strengths, abilities, imagination, interests and are encouraged to learn through play and developmentally appropriate activities. We provide a safe and nurturing environment, that also values the training, skill and commitment of its qualified & dedicated staff.

The Ideal Candidate will:

Will enjoy working with children ages infant- 5 years
Exude a warm and approachable nature, with the ability to develop trust-based relationships with children and their parents/caregivers.
Have the ability to adapt and be flexible to meet the needs of the children and the Childcare Centre.
Work as part of a team to develop and support programming and maintain schedules, as well as maintain records relating to childcare.
Promote age-appropriate learning that fosters social, emotional, physical and cognitive development
Work with parents and supported childcare or other community service providers to help children progress towards educational and behavioral goals.
Essential Qualifications

Early Childhood Educator (ECE) or Infant Toddler Educator Certificate.
Approved Criminal Record Check
Level 1 First Aid
