Job Description
Mississauga Secondary Academy is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and highly qualified English teacher to teach Grades 11 and 12. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to inspire and challenge students through engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, reading, writing, and communication skills. As an OCT-certified educator, you will play a vital role in preparing students for post-secondary education, equipping them with the skills needed to succeed academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery:
- Teach English courses for Grades 11 and 12 in alignment with Ontario Curriculum standards.
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that foster critical thinking, literary analysis, and effective communication.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including discussions, multimedia resources, group activities, and individual assignments, to address diverse learning needs and styles.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods, including tests, essays, projects, and presentations.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to help them improve and reach their academic potential.
- Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and behavior in accordance with school policies.
- Classroom Management:
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and respect.
- Set clear expectations for student behavior and academic performance, ensuring that all students feel valued and respected.
