Accounting Manager

M C Ventilation Ltd is currently seeking an individual for the position of “Accounting Manager.” M C Ventilation Ltd is a mechanical contracting business based out of Saint John NB specializing in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sheetmetal through out the Atlantic Provinces.

The successful candidate will answer directly to the Manager. Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following.

Payroll:

Set up new employees
Weekly hourly payroll
Monthly pension/benefits
WorkSafe NB
Government remittance – receiver general, CPP, EI, taxes.
Accounts Receivable:

Set up new customers
Set up projects in accounting/project management software (Maestro)
Obtain required documents needed for projects as requested by customers i.e. Insurance, WorksafeNB, safety documents
Invoicing/monthly progress billings
Close out of projects once completed/final payments received
Accounts Payable:

Set up new suppliers
Post invoices/match to packing slips
Monthly cheque runs
Maintain monthly payments i.e. vehicles, insurances, Visa
Along with these duties will be balancing of bank statements, aiding accountant with preparing year end taxes & providing job costing reports for project managers.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of a post-secondary accounting program with experience performing the above duties. Candidate must be self-motivated and disciplined to achieve results for successful job performance. Must be able to work in fast paced environment with little supervision and must posses’ excellent time management/organizational skills.
