Job Description

Job Title: Vice President – Operations (Construction Projects)

Reports To: Director of Company

Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Salary: ₹18,00,000 – ₹48,00,000 Per Annum (Depending on Candidate Ability and Experience)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced “Vice president – Operations” with Construction Project Management and Execution who expertise in managing large-scale Civil, Commercial Park, IT Park, and High-Rise Building projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of handling projects from foundation to finishing works and coordinating multiple subcontractors. The candidate should have at least 20+ years of experience in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ability to manage construction sites from inception to completion, including interior finishing and handover.
• Taking ownership of project sites on progress, quality, safety, cleanliness, process adherence and working as a team to achieve the above.
• Scheduling, planning and coordinating to ensure all projects are on schedule and that all works are happening in parallel in full swing to quality and speed, ensuring coordination with all departments as required.
• Must have vendor/ labor sourcing experience.
• Collaborate effectively with PMC, architects and clients
• Utilize a personal database of quality contractors and vendors, bringing them on board as needed.
• Orienting and checking if critical reports and requirements are shared by reporting staff - Work issue, DLA, Photos, Work plan, Indents, Bills, Engineering related data to be shared
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and site regulations.
• Proficient in software tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MSP and AutoCAD.

Design Management
• Review design basis reports, assumptions and calculations for foundation, substructure, superstructure and roofing systems submitted by the consultants in line with design standards and specifications.
• Ability to understand local norms and approvals for design projects.
• Review tender drawings, specifications and bills of quantities and recommend for management approval
• Review detailed design drawings, technical specifications and shop drawings for construction submitted by the EPC contractor/ Consultant and recommend for HOD approval.
• Participate in design coordination meetings with cross functional teams, Stakeholders, consultant and EPC contractor to mitigate conflicts in the design stage
• Ensure GFC (Good for Construction) drawings are approved in time and issued for construction.
• Ensure integration of all related services and utilities in the final design.

Construction Management
• Responsible for Development and implementation of detailed construction schedule (design development to Handing over) as per agreed timelines.
• Ensure periodic review and update the management in association with contractor and other stake holders.
• Execution of all Civil and structural works & other interface works as per the quality & cost parameters specified in the contracts
• Ability to conduct review meeting of staffs.
• Engage with multiple contractors including labor contractor for Civil and structure related works for smooth execution of the project.
• Ensure quality of works as per approved quality plan
• Manage conflicts with interfacing/ related works such as Façade, architecture, Finishes, electrical and MEP and mitigate conflicts.
• Completion within Time, quality & Cost.

Procurement Support
• Assist in Finalizing tender specifications, drawings and BOQs for procurement.
• Assist the procurement team with Technical and Commercial inputs in tendering, vendor evaluation and finalization for all packages related to Civil, Structural, roof system, Façade and other associated works.
• Ability to review stores department and provides MIS reports to management.

Skills required:
• Experience: Minimum of 20 years of experience in the construction industry with a strong focus on civil, commercial, IT park, and high-rise building

projects.Prove
• n Track Record: At least 2-3 projects successfully managed from foundation to completion, including experience with large-scale projects.Educa
• tion: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or certifications (PMP, LEED, etc.) is a plus.Techn
• ical Skills: Strong knowledge of construction processes, civil engineering principles, and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).Leade
• rship Skills: Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, manage, and lead large teams.Commu
• nication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with diverse stakeholders and provide clear project updates.Probl
• em Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address and resolve project challenges promptly.Budge
• t Management: Experience in managing large project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and variance analysis.Regul
• atory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction codes, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
